Feature Match Round 8: "Pro"-Ming Wong (Evilswarm) vs Alexey Reva (Lightsworn Ruler)

The last round of Day 1, as well as the last round of Swiss is about to start. This round’s feature boys are Alexey Reva and Ho-Ming Wong who are both very eager to come back tomorrow. With each of them sitting on a 6-1 record, this will more than likely be the case. This one will be gold! For the last time of today, it’s time to rev your flow on! I mean, it’s time to Duel!

The dice roll was in the favour of Ho-Ming, who started today’s last match with Rescue Rabbit, whose effect let Ho-Ming Special Summon 2 Evilswarm Heliotropes. Evilswarm Ophion came down and its effect added Infestation Pandemic to Ho-Ming’s hand. Ho-Ming set 2 cards face-down and ended his turn.

Charge of the Light Brigade milled 3 cards from Reva’s Deck, one of the Eclipse Wyvern. He added Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress to his hand and banished Lightray Diabolos. Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress hit the field and her effect destroyed Infestation Pandemic. In the End Phase, 3 cards were milled. Ho-Ming activated Evilswarm Ophion’s effect to search out Infestation Infection. He then Summoned Evilswarm Kerykeion, and used its effect, banishing a Heliotrope to add and summon the other one. All the Monsters attacked. In Main Phase 2, Ho-Ming Summoned a new Evilswarm Ophion, using its effect to add another copy of Infestation Pandemic. He sets 2 more cards and ended his turn.

Reva had  Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner ! He used her effect, picthing Necro Gardna, to which Ho-Ming chained Maxx “C”. Reva took back Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress, which targeted Infestation Pandemic, who got chained to trade in an Evilswarm Heliotrope for a Kerykeion. In the End Phase, 6 more cards got milled.

Ho-Ming Summoned Rai-Oh. The empty Ophion attacked and destroyed  Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner , Rai-Oh tried to take down Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress, but got stopped by Necro gardna, but the second Evilswarm Ophion managed to her out.
He set another card and ended his turn. Play went back to Reva. He looked at his hand and Graveyard, and decided to scoop.

Evilswarm Ophion prevented Reva from bringing out the big guns. Will his Side Deck provide answers to this powerful Xyz Monster?

Reva kicked off this game with Solar Recharge, discarding  Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner . He set a monster and 2 cards, then ended his turn. Ho-Ming used Mystical Space Typhoon on Royal Decree, and Summoned Rescue Rabbit to bring out 2 Evilswarm Heliotropes again. Evilswarm Ophion hit the field, and Ho-Ming added Infestation Pandemic through its effect. He set 4 cards and ended his turn.

Eclipse Wyvern got Flip Summoned! Reva rammed it into Ophion, and Honest was activated during damage calculation. Reva set a new monster and ended. Ho-Ming Summoned Evilswarm Kerykeion! He banished the first Heliotrope and Summoned the second from his Graveyard. Heliotrope destroyed Eclipse Wyvern , which banished Lightray Diabolos. Kerykeion attacked and destroyed Necro gardna, and in Main Phase 2 Ophion was Xyz Summoned, adding another Infestation Pandemic. Ho-Ming ended his turn. Reva summoned Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress, who got hit by Bottomless Trap Hole. Reva ended his turn.

Ho-Ming Normal Summoned Evilswarm Heliotrope and attacked with both his monsters; Necro gardna stopped Evilswarm Ophion. In the End Phase, Reva’s Mystical Space Typhoon took out Fiendish Chain.

Reva had Kuribandit, and used its effect to grab a Solar Recharge. Ho-Ming went into the Battle Phase, with the same result as last turn. Reva drew, had a look at the field, and decided that Evilswarm Ophion was too strong of a match.

Ho-Ming ends his Day 1 with a 7-1 record, and Reva goes home with a 6-2 under his belt. Time for me to pack my stuff as well, but make sure to check back tomorrow for the Top 16 Coverage!
