The second
round is about to start. For this round, we will be following a player who let
me know he’d be running a rather special Deck, namely Kenny Everaert and his
Reversal Quiz Deck. His opponent for this match will be Raphael Van Den Bergh
running Mermail. We sure are in for a jewel. It’s time to Duel!
Kenny won
the dice roll and decided to go first, starting the duel with a set card and
Kuribandit. He used its effect, choosing Reversal Quiz from the Excavated cards.
Raphael summoned Mermail Abysslinde, attacked and set a Trap. Kenny activated Destiny Draw, discarding Malicious. He summoned Armageddon Knight, and used its effect to send Plaguespreader Zombie to the Graveyard. At the end of Kenny’s Main Phase, Abyss-Sphere got Raphael a second copy of Mermail Abysslinde, which got destroyed, getting Mermail Abysspyke who discarded Atlantean Dragoons. Raphael added Atlanteans Marksman and Heavy Infantry to his hand. In his turn, he activated Allure of Darkness, banishing Genex Controller. Mermail Abyssturge hit the field, and Raphael discarded Marksman, getting Mermail Abysslinde back from the Graveyard, and Kenny activated his set Scapegoat. By banishing Marksman, Aqua Spirit joined the aquatic party. Raphael attacked Armageddon Knight with Mermail Abyssturge, and his other monsters destroyed 3 Tokens. Aqua Spirit and Mermail Abyssturge formed Abyss Dweller, and Raphael passed the turn.
Kenny played Soul Charge, getting back Diamond Dude, Plaguespreader and Malicious. He Synchro Summoned Scrap Dragon, who used its effect targeting both Abyss Dweller and a Token.
Diamond Dude revealed Pot of Duality and Kenny passed the turn. Genex Undine was Normal summoned, and it sent Atlantean Heavy Infantry add Genex Controller. Infantry destroyed Scrap Dragon. Mermail Abyssturge destroys Diamond Dude, and the other monsters attacked, putting Kenny at 500 Life Points. Mermail Abysslinde and Genex Undine formed Mechquipped Angineer.
Kenny checked his grave. He activated Pot of Duality from there, and chose Destiny Draw from between 2 copies of it and another Diamond Dude. He activated it by discarding, drawing Fuhma Shuriken and Kuribandit! Next, he set 2 cards and ended his turn. Raphael summons Genex Controller and tries to attack for game, but Battle Fader disagrees! Black Rose dragon got Synchro Summoned and activated her effect, and got protected by Angineer. Raphael set 1 card and ended his turn.
Kenny activated Malicious’ effect from the graveyard and put Kuribandit on the top of his Deck to special Summon Plaguespreader Zombie. Kenny Synchro Summoned as well; Stardust Dragon! Kenny set all his spells, and activated Reversal Quiz! He sent all his cards in hand and field to the graveyard, then called Monster! This was correct! The Life Points were swapped, now Raphael had only 500 Life Points left, but… one of the cards Kenny sent from his field to the grave was Fuhma Shuriken! This dealt 700 points of damage to the Mermail Player.

sighed, and had a careful look through his Side Deck. Moments later, he started
game 2 with 2 set cards. Kenny drew Soul Charge and Normal summoned Cyber
Valley. At the end of the main Phase, Abyss-Sphere summoned Mermail Abysslinde;
she got destroyed searching out Mermail Abysspyke, which discarded Mermail
Abyssleed to add Genex Undine. In his turn Raphael summoned Undine, sending
Dragoons to add Genex Controller. Dragoons let him add Atlantean Heavy
Infantry. Raphael then played Soul Charge to get back Leed, Dragoons and Linde.
Dragoons and Pike were stacked to Xyz Summon Abyss Dweller, who activated his
effect, detaching Dragoons. Dragoons let Raphael add another copy of Atlantean
Marksman, which he discarded along with Atlantean Heavy Infantry for Mermail
Abyssmegalo, searching Abyss-Squall.
Cyber Valley got destroyed. The two big monsters formed a Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack, and the smaller ones a Mechquipped Angineer. Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack summoned 2 Tokens, and after setting 3 more cards face-down, Raphael ended his turn. Kenny set a card and ended, and his Destiny Draw got hit by Mystical Space Typhoon. Raphael looks at his hand, field and grave, and started attacking. All attacks went through, leaving Kenny with 1400 Life Points. Raphael added a backrow and ended. Kenny set 3 cards, which concluded his turns as well. Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack destroyed Destiny draw. Raphael tried to attack again, and met Kenny’s Scapegoat. 2 Goat tokens survived the Battle Phase.
Kenny Normal Summoned Cyber Valley and used its effect, removing a Token to draw 2 cards. Kenny activated his facedown Soul Charge, getting back a Cyber Valley. The second Token got removed along with it. Kenny played his 3rd Destiny Draw, discarding Diamond Dude. Allure of darkness gave him even more Draws at the cost opf another Dude. Mystical Space Typhoon destroyed a set Pot of Duality in End Phase. Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack destroys Mystical Space Typhoon, which got chained to destroy Abyss-Squall. Raphael attacks, Kenny tries to activate Battle Fader’s effect, but Raphael has Debunk!

was tied, with 11 minutes left in the round. Kenny started the third game with
Allure of Darkness, banishing Armageddon Knight. He summoned Kuribandit, whose
effect got his Destiny Draw. Raphael summoned Mermail Abysslinde and attacked,
then set 3 cards face-down. Kenny activated Destiny Draw, discarding Malicious.
Next he Summoned Cyber Valley and ended. Raphael set a Monster and switched
Mermail Abysslinde to defence. Kenny summoned Diamond Dude, who sent Scapegoat
to the bottom of the Deck, after which Kenny ended. Raphael summoned Genex
Undine, grabbing a Controller by sending Infantry, which destroyed Cyber
Valley. Raphael stacked his Undine and Mermail Abysslinde for Mechquipped
Angineer, who attacked Diamond Dude. Kenny took the next turn, summoning Cyber
Valley, and ending his turn. Raphael set a card and passed. Kenny Normal
Summoned Kuribandit, and banished it along with Cyber Valley. Upstart Goblin
got him a new card; Destiny Draw! He discarded Malicious with it to draw some
more cards, and ends up setting 3 of them. Mystical Space Typhoon takes out Mystical
Space Typhoon in the End Phase. Raphael Flip Summons Mermail Abysslinde and
attacks, but when Angineer attacks Kenny has Battle Fader! Raphael set a new
card, and Kenny had Scapegoat in the end phase, as well as an Mystical Space
Typhoon to take out the newly set Abyss-Sphere. Kenny tribute Battle Fader for
Jinzo!
His tokens were switched to attack Position, and one of them attacked Angineer, who used its effect to turn itself to Defence Mode, leaving Kenny at 3600. The other Tokens charged, leaving Kenny with 600 Life Points! He set a card and started counting the cards in his Graveyard. He set his other cards and played Reversal Quiz, sending all his cards to the Graveyard, including Fuhma Shuriken and calling Spells.
He flipped over the top card, and it was Upstart Goblin! Kenny wins his second round!
